Before your first AI request, we ask permission to send selected jewelry photos, questions, relevant item/category information and recent chat history through Google Firebase to OpenAI. You can decline and use saved history and built-in guides. Turn off Allow AI sharing in Settings to stop future AI requests. This does not recall data already processed.
The app creates an anonymous Firebase identity in the background, without a login screen. Firebase App Check processes device/app attestation for abuse prevention. The backend uses a pseudonymous identifier, request identifiers, scan/question counts and subscription transaction evidence to verify access, apply the daily free allowance and protect the service. Server diagnostics contain technical status, timing and error information; our application logs do not intentionally include photos, prompts, AI responses, keys, bearer tokens or purchase JWS payloads.
Your scan history, selected photos and saved conversations are stored on your device. The backend temporarily caches a completed AI response for approximately ten minutes so a network retry does not charge your allowance twice. Expiry cleanup is asynchronous. Input photos and prompts are forwarded for processing and are not intentionally written to our Firestore database. Anonymous identities and usage records are retained to administer quotas and prevent abuse.
Google Firebase/Google Cloud provide identity, app attestation, secure backend processing and private database storage. OpenAI processes the content needed for AI responses and may retain API data for abuse monitoring under its applicable policies. See Google Privacy and OpenAI Privacy.
Apple processes subscription payments. RevenueCat remains integrated to manage products, purchase/restore status and anonymous purchase entitlements, and may process purchase history, app-user identifiers, the device’s identifier for vendor, device/app information and diagnostics under its privacy policy. The Firebase backend independently verifies Apple-signed transactions and current subscription status. We do not receive payment-card details.
Camera and photo-library access are used for pictures you choose. You can manage permissions in iOS Settings, remove individual history items in the app, and manage/cancel subscriptions through Apple. The free allowance is one scan per UTC day; questions remain available subject to abuse and capacity controls. We do not use these AI inputs for advertising tracking or sell them. Jewelry identification, materials, authenticity and values are uncertain educational estimates; a photo cannot replace laboratory testing or a professional appraisal.
